“Let her sleep…”

I’m sure we’re all familiar with the quote from Napoleon, “Let her sleep for when she wakes, she will shake the world.” / “Let her sleep for when she wakes, she will move mountains.”

I love this quote for many reasons and I’m here to talk about it, in relation to KLS. My interpretation of this quote is obviously different from what it’s related to, but that’s the beauty in writing and art. This quote reminds me of when I go into episodes, I need my time to sleep and when I’m healthy, I use my energy to acchieve happiness, my goals and to encourage people.

When I go into an episode, I am both sleeping and completely disorientated for 2 weeks. This is the part where I need to rest and let my episodes run through, no matter how much I hate it. When I wake, I gain copious amounts of energy and focus my time on everything and everyone I’ve missed. With every episode I have, I always appreciate life some more.

I have taken something that has challenged me in many ways and continues to when I’m healthy, and altered it into something that has given me a new perspective. No matter what happens, I try my best to constantly spread positive energy to everything in my life. This energy has allowed me to write, be confident in sharing my story and to inspire people who read my blogs.

KLS is a very uncertain and I’m thankful that I have figured out what makes me sick. This is an uncontrollable illness but I have not allowed it to control me. Something that I want to teach people is, you are what you take from your challenges. With the energy you gain, you are capable of moving mountains and inspiring everyone around you. This world will always need a little bit of light, whatever that may be.

Here’s to everyone capable of achieving something that is difficult!
